Somatic support

The body remembers what the mind has tried to carry alone.
‍
Trauma doesn’t only live in thoughts or memories. It can settle into the nervous system, shaping tension, reactions, and protective patterns over time.

The mind can understand, analyse, and make sense of what happened. The body holds the rest: the tension, the patterns, the instinctual responses that once helped you get through.

Somatic work meets your autonomic nervous system directly, the part of you that governs fight, flight, freeze, fawn, and collapse. None of these are flaws. They are ways your body tried to protect you.In our work together, we move slowly and with curiosity. We track sensation, breath, small movements, and subtle impulses. These cues reveal what your system is holding, what it’s protecting, what it may still need, and what may be ready to soften, when it’s ready.

This work is about building a trusting relationship with your body, and letting it show us the pace, the direction, and the doorway to safety.

In our sessions, you may begin to:
  • Notice sensations without fear or overwhelm
  • Resolve unfinished trauma responses
  • Expand your window of tolerance
  • Regulate patterns of anxiety, dissociation, or shutdown
  • Feel more grounded and anchored
  • Rebuild trust in yourself and your inner signals
Somatic support is gentle, and powerful. Slow, and deeply restorative. It honours the body as the guide, and lets healing unfold from the inside out.
