Frequently asked questions

1. How do I know if somatic therapy is right for me?
Somatic work can support you if you feel disconnected from your body, overwhelmed by emotion, or stuck in patterns that feel hard to shift through talk alone.

You don’t need the “right” words—your body already knows the way forward.
2. What happens in the first session?
The first session is a soft landing.

We'll talk about what brings you here, listen to what your nervous system needs to feel safe, and how we might move together.

Nothing is pushed. You set the pace.
3. Do I need to revisit painful memories to heal?
Not always.

Healing doesn't always require diving into every part of the story.

Sometimes we work with sensation, building capacity, and feeling safe in the present—letting your body guide what’s ready and what isn’t.
4. How long does therapy usually take?
There's no timeline you're expected to meet.

We move slowly, following your body's rhythm and capacity.

Some people come for a season; others for deeper ongoing work. We'll decide together what feels supportive for you and your body.
5. What if I don't feel anything in my body?
Numbness, disconnect, or shutdown are still part of your experience — and they are understandable.

We’ll approach whatever is present with gentleness.

Over time, your system can begin to soften, notice more, and feel safer inside itself.
