Somatic Therapy

The body remembers what the mind has tried to carry alone.

Trauma doesn’t just live in thoughts or memories — it can settle into the nervous system — shaping tension, reactions, and protective patterns over time. The mind can understand, analyze, make sense of it. But the body holds the tension, the patterns, the instinctual responses that once helped you get through.

Somatic therapy works directly with your autonomic nervous system — the part of you that governs fight, flight, freeze, fawn, and rest.

In our work together, we move slowly and with curiosity — tracking sensations, breath, small movements and subtle impulses. These cues reveal what your system is holding, what it’s protecting, what it may still need, and what may be ready to soften.

This work isn’t about forcing change. It’s about building a trusting relationship with your body and letting it show us the pace, the direction, and the doorway to safety. In our sessions, you may begin to:
  • Notice sensations without fear or overwhelm
  • Resolve unfinished trauma responses
  • Expand your window of tolerance
  • Regulate patterns of anxiety, dissociation, or shutdown
  • Feel more grounded and anchored
  • Rebuild trust in yourself and your inner signals
Somatic therapy is gentle, but powerful. Slow, but deeply restorative. It honors the body as the guide — and lets healing unfold from the inside out.
